The Opportunity

Sea Centric is seeking skilled Marine Engineers to operate, maintain, and repair the mechanical and electrical systems aboard our vessel fleet. The Engineer will help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient vessel operations while maintaining compliance with maritime regulations and company standards.

What You Will Do:

• Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair propulsion, power-generation, hydraulic, fuel, cooling, and auxiliary systems.
• Monitor engine-room equipment and respond promptly to alarms or equipment failures.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate engine-room logs, maintenance records, inventories, and inspection reports.
• Manage fuel, lubricants, spare parts, and engineering supplies.
• Support vessel inspections, dry-docking, refits, and regulatory audits.
• Follow safety, environmental, and emergency-response procedures.
• Participate in drills and perform assigned emergency duties.
• Coordinate with the Captain, Chief Engineer, deck crew, contractors, and shore-based technical staff.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe engine room.

What You Bring:

• Marine Engineering diploma, or equivalent technical training.
• Valid Transport Canada Fourth, Third, Second, or First-Class Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency.
• Valid STCW certificates and Marine Medical.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, generators, pumps, hydraulics, electrical systems, and auxiliary machinery.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Familiarity with applicable maritime safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Additional Details:

This position requires extended periods aboard a vessel. Candidates must be able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, tolerate noise and vibration, and perform duties in changing weather and sea conditions.
