Meridia Recruitment is excited to partner with Alumitech Ltd. in the search for a Logistics Coordinator to join their Bedford-based team.
Founded in 1991 and proudly headquartered in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Alumitech is a recognized leader in the design, manufacture, and installation of custom-engineered curtain walls, architectural windows, skylights, storefronts, doors, metal cladding, and specialty glass systems. Known for precision, quality, and innovation, Alumitech is the trusted partner for Atlantic Canada's top construction companies, architects, and developers seeking complete building envelope solutions.
Role Description
As the Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the flow of materials into and out of Alumitech's Bedford facility. Working closely with suppliers, transportation providers, project teams, and shop personnel, you will help ensure materials arrive on schedule, inventory remains accurate, and shipments are delivered efficiently to project sites and customers.
This newly created role combines logistics coordination, supplier follow-up, inventory management, shipping and receiving, and hands-on material handling responsibilities. Success in the role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will serve as a key point of contact for suppliers and freight providers, helping to ensure projects have the materials they need when they need them.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate inbound shipments from suppliers and track order progress, delivery schedules, and estimated arrival dates.
  • Communicate directly with suppliers and transportation partners to ensure materials are delivered in accordance with project requirements and timelines.
  • Plan and coordinate freight loads to maximize efficiency, reduce handling, and minimize the risk of damage.
  • Receive and inspect inbound shipments, verifying the accuracy, completeness, and condition of materials.
  • Investigate and resolve shipment issues, including shortages, damages, backorders, missing items, and supplier claims.
  • Maintain and organize warehouse inventory, ensuring inventory transactions and material movements are accurately recorded.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments to project sites and customers, including packaging materials and preparing shipping documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inbound and outbound shipments and provide regular updates on shipping activity.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as required.
  • Support a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.

Your Qualifications
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift throughout the day. You enjoy solving problems, following up on details, and taking ownership of processes from start to finish.
Your qualifications include:

  • Experience in shipping and receiving, warehousing, inventory control, logistics coordination, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience tracking orders, coordinating deliveries, and communicating with suppliers or vendors.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort working with email, spreadsheets, and inventory systems.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 60 lbs when required.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and safe material handling practices.

Assets include:

  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, glazing, fabrication, or industrial environments.
  • Forklift certification or forklift operating experience.
  • Experience operating scissor lifts.
  • Experience working with inventory management systems.
  • French language skills.
