Pension Assistant
Dartmouth, NS
On behalf of NSHEPP, we are recruiting a Pension Assistant to join the Pension Operations team. If you're looking for a role where you can build valuable skills, learn from experienced professionals, and establish a long-term career, this opportunity could be the perfect fit.
As one of the top 30 pension plans in Canada, NSHEPP supports more than 40,000 active members and 17,000 retirees through 90+ participating employers at over 150 sites across Nova Scotia. Joining NSHEPP means becoming part of a collaborative team dedicated to helping members navigate important milestones throughout their careers and into retirement.
Reporting to the Manager, Pension Administration, the Pension Assistant will develop a strong foundation in pension administration while providing exceptional service to Plan members. In this role, you'll respond to member inquiries by phone and email, prepare and process pension-related documentation, maintain accurate records, and provide administrative support to the Pension Services team. You'll work alongside experienced colleagues, gain exposure to the full pension administration process, and play an important role in supporting the team's day-to-day operations and broader initiatives. It's an excellent opportunity to learn how a large pension plan operates from the ground up while developing skills that will support a long-term career in pension administration.
The ideal candidate has completed post-secondary education in business, human resources, finance, administration, accounting, or a related field. This role is well suited to a new or recent graduate who is looking to build a career in pension administration. We welcome applicants who do not have direct pension experience but bring strong communication skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
We're looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys helping others. You communicate professionally, take pride in producing accurate work, and are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You're eager to learn, adaptable, and confident using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and technology.
If you're looking for an opportunity to build your career with a respected organization that values learning, collaboration, and exceptional service, we'd love to hear from you. Interested candidates can apply at https://venor.ca/opportunities/pension-assistant-nshepp/
