We're growing and we're looking for someone who sees opportunities before anyone else does.
As our Business Development Manager, you'll help expand our retail footprint by identifying promising markets, evaluating store locations, and supporting acquisition and partnership opportunities. You'll combine market research, real estate analysis, financial thinking, and strong relationship-building skills to help bring new stores to life.

You'll work closely with teams across the business to make thoughtful decisions, move opportunities forward, and win together.
What You'll Do- Research emerging markets and identify promising opportunities for new retail locations, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
- Analyze demographic trends, competitor activity, customer demand, and local market dynamics to assess potential store sites.
- Monitor cannabis retail trends and regulatory developments, helping the business anticipate change and adapt its expansion strategy.
- Source potential retail locations through brokers, property listings, industry contacts, and local market networks.
- Evaluate site viability based on accessibility, visibility, foot traffic, surrounding businesses, zoning considerations, and competitive positioning.
- Identify existing cannabis retailers that may be open to acquisition, partnership, or other strategic opportunities.
- Build respectful, productive relationships with property owners, brokers, operators, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct thoughtful outreach and guide early-stage conversations around potential transactions.
- Support due diligence by gathering and organizing financial, operational, real estate, and compliance-related information.
- Develop clear business cases for new locations and acquisitions, including market analysis, financial projections, risks, and recommendations.
- Prepare concise presentations and decision materials for the Executive team and Board.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, operations, construction, and design teams to assess opportunities and align on next steps.
- Work with construction and design partners to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and timing of potential store build-outs.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of opportunities, priorities, decisions, and follow-up actions.
- Travel regularly for site visits, market tours, stakeholder meetings, and industry events.
- A bachelor's degree in business, real estate, marketing, finance, or a related field
- Two or more years of experience in business development, retail expansion, commercial real estate, acquisitions, or a related role.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess market potential, financial viability, risks, and trade-offs.
- Experience working with data, research platforms, spreadsheets, and financial models.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn complex findings into practical recommendations.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- The ability to manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, and stakeholders without losing sight of the details.

- Experience in cannabis retail or another regulated retail industry.
- Familiarity with Canadian provincial cannabis retail environments.
- Experience with location analytics, mapping, or site-selection software.
- Experience working with commercial real estate brokers, landlords, and leasing processes.
- Exposure to retail acquisitions, financial due diligence, or post-acquisition planning.
- Experience presenting recommendations to senior leaders, executives, or a Board.
