Role Description:
Reporting to the Division Manager, the Electrical Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing electrical construction projects from award through to completion, ensuring successful delivery aligned with scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations. You will play a key role in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing financial performance, and maintaining strong client relationships while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
By joining Black & McDonald, you will contribute to a diverse range of commercial and institutional projects, including healthcare and large-scale construction initiatives. You will work closely with experienced team members and leadership while leveraging tools such as Procore and enterprise accounting systems to manage project execution, forecasting, and reporting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing project planning, scheduling, and execution from kickoff through closeout;
- Managing project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and progress claims;
- Coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure alignment;
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and shop documentation to support project delivery;
- Managing change orders and ensuring accurate documentation and approvals;
- Maintaining ongoing communication with clients, stakeholders, and project partners;
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards on all projects;
- Utilizing project management and financial systems for tracking and reporting;
- Supporting job setup, resource allocation, and continuous process improvement.

Your qualifications will include:
- 5+ years of experience managing electrical or construction projects within commercial or institutional environments;
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards;
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project risks;
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings and technical documentation;
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Procore and ERP systems;
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills;
- Ability to manage change orders, claims, and contract requirements;
- Red Seal or construction-related education is considered an asset.
