Halifax Water is inviting applicants for one (1) Regular Full-time Building Process Maintainer in the Operations Department. The Building Process Maintainer performs all forms of general labour work associated with the operation of the wastewater treatment facilities.
- Perform general labour work, general housekeeping/cleaning, handle equipment and materials associated with the operations.
- Perform general care and maintenance duties with respect to the building and grounds.
- Carry out mowing/trimming of grass and shoveling snow.
- Lift mid to heavy range items and operate overhead cranes.
- Perform work in a safety conscious manner including safely operating assigned tools and equipment.
- Perform internal and external painting.
- Load and unload chemicals, materials and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and assist plant staff in carrying out duties
- Assist in the installation, operation and maintenance of various items of plant.
- Assist truck drivers during deliveries/pickups.
Minimum qualifications for this position include:
- Grade 12, (or equivalent)
- One (1) year related experience in municipal maintenance operations.
- The successful incumbent must also have a valid NS Class 5 drivers' licence in good standing.
