Freight Broker

Title: Freight Broker

Location: Mississauga, ON

Wage: $20.00 - $30/hr based on experience

Shift: 8:30am- 5:00pm

Shifts available: Monday to Friday

Our client is a fast-growing logistics and transportation company located in Mississauga. They are looking to add a Freight Broker who can manage and coordinate shipments while supporting daily brokerage operations in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and previous freight or logistics experience.

Job Duties:
• Book and coordinate freight shipments with carriers across North America
• Negotiate rates with carriers to ensure competitive and cost-effective pricing
• Arrange and schedule pickups and deliveries as required
• Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time performance
• Communicate shipment updates, delays, and resolutions to customers
• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients
• Process shipping documentation including rate confirmations and bills of lading
• Source available carriers for both dedicated and spot freight
• Resolve shipment issues and provide timely solutions to customers and carriers
• Maintain accurate records of loads, pricing, and carrier performance
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company procedures
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to support daily operations

Job Requirements:
• Previous experience as a Freight Broker required
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and manage high-volume workloads
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and transportation systems (TMS an asset)
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• High school diploma required; post-secondary education in logistics or supply chain considered an asset
