The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Junior Investments Analyst to join our Investments Operations team. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining service standards and providing analytical support to the Investments team. This is a full-time, permanent role based in St. John's, NL.
Your key activities will include:
- Monitor and evaluate external public market managers against benchmarks, peers, and mandate objectives
- Analyze performance and attribution to identify key drivers of returns and risk exposures
- Support ongoing investment manager oversight, including maintaining scorecards and monitoring compliance
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative due diligence on new and existing managers
- Prepare regular investment reports, performance summaries, and briefing materials for internal stakeholders
- Perform market and macro research to contextualize portfolio and manager performance
- Assist in the development of investment insights and recommendations for portfolio decision-making
- Maintain and validate portfolio, benchmark, and performance data using industry data platforms
- Collaborate with senior team members on manager reviews and investment strategy discussions
- Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting tools, dashboards, and oversight processes
What you'll bring to the role
- A post-secondary degree in finance, business administration, economics, commerce, or related field
- A minimum of one-year of direct investment experience
- Completion of, or progress toward the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation would be considered an asset
- Strong research, analytical and writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,700
