Dietary Services Worker

The Dietary Services Worker works collaboratively with the Director of Environmental Services and Maintenance to provide our residents with quality of life and attention, demonstrating professionalism and respect, adhering to policies and procedures while completing the tasks as outlined in the Dietary Services Worker job description.

Qualifications

• Grade twelve (12) or equivalent preferred but students can apply
• Must have related experience, preferably in a long-term care setting
• Experience in handling of Industrial chemicals, with current WHMIS (will provide)
• Ability and confidence to work independently or within a team
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Must be able to follow written and verbal communication
• Must demonstrate an understanding and caring attitude and ability to communicate effectively with people of various personalities and various levels of physical and mental functioning.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff in all departments at NQNH, family members and volunteers
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of the job and adapt to changes in temperature. This is a weight-bearing job that requires long periods of standing. Lifting is required up to 50lbs
• Regular attendance in current and previous employment
• Must have successfully completed a recognized course in food safety and food handling (or willing to complete a course when offered).
• Previous experience in a kitchen setting is an asset.
