ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NL Health Services – Central Zone invites applications for a permanent full-time Pediatrician at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive pediatric services to children and youth across the Central Zone, working within a collaborative and well-supported interdisciplinary team. The position includes both inpatient and outpatient pediatric care, with on-call coverage shared equitably among the physician group.

Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre is the primary acute care facility for the Central Zone, serving a population of approximately 90,000 people across central Newfoundland. The facility provides a broad range of secondary services and serves as the regional referral centre for the zone.

NL Health Services is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, and academic interests are encouraged and supported.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification in Pediatrics (or equivalent)
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
  • Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric care to children and youth across the Central Zone
  • Participate in on-call coverage shared equitably among the physician group
  • Deliver consultations to referring physicians and interdisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to teaching and training of medical learners through the Memorial University affiliation
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and allied health professionals
  • Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

REMUNERATION

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador, commensurate with level of training and experience.
