ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
NL Health Services – Eastern Urban Zone invites applications for a Full-time Developmental Pediatrician to join the Child Development and Rehabilitation Division at the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre in St. John’s, NL.
The successful candidate will provide outpatient care to children with behavioural and developmental needs within the Child Health Program. The physician will share equitably in the outpatient workload of the Division and participate in on-call coverage, including responsibilities with the Child Protection Team and/or the Janeway Child Development call schedule.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the incumbent will deliver high-quality clinical care and contribute to the teaching of medical learners, including medical students and residents. NL Health Services is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University and supports a strong academic and teaching environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatrics (or equivalent)
- Specialized training in Developmental Pediatrics, which may include subspecialty certification and/or relevant clinical experience
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services, including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide outpatient assessment, diagnosis, and management of children with developmental and behavioural concerns
- Participate in the Division’s shared outpatient workload and ensure timely access to care
- Provide consultation and support for children involved with child protection services as required
- Participate in the Janeway Child Development and/or Child Protection on-call schedules
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive care
- Contribute to medical education by teaching undergraduate and postgraduate learners
- Promote patient- and family-centered care, ensuring safety and quality improvement in all clinical activities
REMUNERATION
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador, with compensation based on years of clinical experience.
