For over 50 years, we have partnered with government agencies, municipalities, and private-sector clients to construct and rehabilitate critical infrastructure including roads, bridges, water and wastewater systems, site developments, and other major civil works.
As our company continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager / Estimator to join our team and help support our expanding portfolio of projects.
Position Overview
The Project Manager / Estimator will play a key role in both the pursuit and execution of heavy civil construction projects. Working closely with senior management, field supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, this individual will be responsible for preparing competitive estimates and managing projects from award through completion.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating
Review tender documents, plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates.
Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Develop bid pricing strategies and assist with tender submissions.
Analyze project risks, opportunities, and constructability considerations.
Maintain historical costing data and estimating databases.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
Project Management
Manage projects from award through completion and closeout.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
Coordinate project resources, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
Track project costs and productivity to ensure profitability targets are achieved.
Prepare and manage change orders, progress claims, and project reporting.
Attend project meetings with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
Identify and resolve project issues proactively.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in estimating, project management, or a similar role within heavy civil construction.
Strong understanding of civil infrastructure projects, construction methods, and contract administration.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience with estimating, scheduling, and project management software is considered an asset.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred Experience
Experience with one or more of the following project types is considered a strong asset:
Road construction and rehabilitation
Municipal water and sewer infrastructure
Earthworks and site development
Bridge and culvert construction
Public tendering and government procurement processes
