About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Informatics, the Informatics Manager position is responsible for team management and information systems leadership supporting CorCare Willow and Pharmacy applications. The Informatics Manager position provides an additional level of coordination and communication, overseeing all Pharmacy-related system and 3rd party applications and may require to cover other clinical areas as required.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Manages a team of skilled pharmacy and digital health professionals
• Help support and maintain a province-wide health information system by completing upgrades and optimization for electronic clinical workflows
• Maintaining strong partnership with the related pharmacy and business stakeholders
• Maintain the scope, schedule, and quality of the clinical system application areas
• Work closely with the Director of Clinical Informatics and other managers to coordinate activities
• Assist and provide leadership to the application analysts in their respective areas
• Work closely with the clinical champions and know how to leverage their support
• Review the health and benefits of the system on an ongoing basis with the Directors of Clinical Informatics, Project Management, and Transformation & Benefits Realization
• Sign off on system configuration, upgrade and update testing, and associated activities
• Monitor and track application tickets/incidents and other operational changes, work activities and initiatives requested of business owners, clients and stakeholders
• Manage, support and evaluate the Clinical Systems Team’s activities to ensure objectives and timelines are met

About You
Education
• Graduation from an approved School of Pharmacy is required
• Master’s degree in health administration, Public Administration, Business or a related field is an asset
• A Baccalaureate Degree in a health-related field or degree in information systems or computer science will be considered

Experience
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience within the last seven (7) preferred in a hospital pharmacy environment and experience with managing projects of a complex nature
• Candidates with a minimum of five (5) years progressive management experience, including experience in a clinical setting, supplemented by supervisory experience, will also be considered

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities related to the pharmaceutical supply chain, clinical therapeutics, technology and informatics management, in healthcare settings
• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage and direct continuous improvement and quality processes
• Demonstrated strong leadership skills focused on supporting and empowering members of the team
• Demonstrated strong critical thinking skills and innovation in problem solving and decision making
• Demonstrated strong conflict management skills
• Ability to work with a high degree of independence and initiative
• Ability to manage change and continuous improvement
• Strong technical background
• Knowledge of clinical systems and their operations
• Experience with Health Information System implementation is an asset
• Experience leading a highly skilled technical team

• Current registration/licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board
• A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required
• Alternate combinations of qualifications may be considered
• Participation in HIS management on-call support rotation
