Job Title: Corporate Controller

Reports To: Area Manager

Purpose of Service: The primary purpose of this role is accounting tasks as listed below in Scope of Services section.

Technical Energy Solutions (TES), a division of Rising Tide Energy Inc., provides industrial solutions to solve process and pipeline challenges. Services are provided for full life of asset from pre-commissioning, through commissioning, operational, and decommissioning stages. TES provides solutions to the energy sector across all stages of the energy supply chain inclusive of upstream, midstream, and downstream.

TES provides industrial services such as chemical cleaning, pipeline pigging, and nitrogen services. Industries served include oil & gas, mining, refining & petrochemical, power generation, manufacturing, renewables, and marine.

Scope of Service:

  • Functional reporting to both Operations Manager and Area Manager. Accountable to Area Manager.
  • Financial Reporting: Directing the full-cycle accounting process, ensuring the accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Prepare financial statements, summaries, and other cost-benefit analyses and financial management reports.
  • Audit & Tax: Managing the year-end audit process with external auditors and ensuring all corporate income tax and payroll compliance is accurate.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Safeguarding company assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal control protocols and ensuring strict compliance with accounting frameworks.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Leading annual budgeting initiatives and preparing forecasting reports for income, expenses, and earnings to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Requires regular engagement with management and external parties (e.g. banking, audit).
  • Maintain highest standards of safety within office by complying with and enforcing safety policies and procedures. Actively ensure that his / her own health and safety and the health and safety of all workers is consistently promoted.
  • Maintain integrity and professionalism in representing RTEI.
  • Carry out other tasks and duties as directed by supervisor.

Essential Qualifications / Experience (if relevant):

Experience

  • More than 10 years related experience in above-identified tasks (considered an asset).

Education

  • High school diploma required.
  • Post secondary degree in accounting required.
  • Professional accounting designation (Certified Professional Accountant) required.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong proficiency in financial reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in Canadian tax and payroll regulations.
  • Strong proficiency with Sage and Ceridian.
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Outlook is mandatory.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and work under tight time constraints.
  • Must be able to effectively interface with other departments and divisions to resolve problems.
  • Must have ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Must be a detail oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining quality.
  • The ability to read, write, and speak English is required.
