Job Summary
Reporting to the PMCC Manager of Training and Quality, the Quality & Training Specialist will work collaboratively with other Training and Quality Improvement leads within the PMCC/PMT program to identify and support ongoing educational needs regarding quality. The Training & Quality Specialist position is instrumental in the delivery of educational and quality improvement programs as well as the coordination and delivery of onboarding orientations. The incumbent is required to keep abreast of new advances, research, and innovations in Paramedicine & Medical Transport. This is accomplished by, but not limited to, attending conferences and seminars, participation in national groups, maintaining certifications, review of relevant journals and periodicals, and maintaining personal clinical proficiency.

Job Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved Primary Care Paramedic program accredited by the Canadian Medical Association is required
- Completion of an approved/recognized Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Course is required
- Current certification as an EMD with the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) is required
- Current certification as an EMD-Q with the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) or willing to complete EMD-Q course upon hire
- Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a high call volume performance-based EMS system as a Primary Care Paramedic is required
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) utilizing ProQA to process emergency calls in a high-volume, performance-driven communications center, is required
- Previous work experience in Quality Assurance (QA) with an EMD focus is required. Familiarity with the Aqua system is considered an asset
- Previous experience in a mentorship or Team Lead role is required, demonstrating the proven ability to provide supportive, constructive and positive performance feedback
- Knowledge of program development and evaluation
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement concepts
- Knowledge of adult education delivery
- Computer literacy in a Windows environment with strong comprehensive computer skills required
- Competency in Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), and dispatch technologies
- Demonstrate strength in collection and analysis of data
- Demonstrated strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills is required, especially when engaging in performance feedback conversation
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position
- A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
