Title: Program Support-Summer Student

Employee Working Location:In-person (Sudbury, ON)

Employment Status:Temporary full-time (2 months)

In this role, you will:

  • Support the day-to-day execution of operational tasks related to program or service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and databases, including client, volunteer, donor, and program information, in accordance with privacy and security requirements.
  • Act as a first point of contact for routine inquiries and issues and appropriately triage requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support service delivery objectives.
  • Participate in team meetings, and distribute documentation as required.
  • Adhere to established office procedures and contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing and updating processes, templates, and workflows.
  • Compile and organize data, statistics, and other information to support research and reporting activities.
  • Provide administrative support for conferences, meetings, and events, as required.
  • Manage office supply inventory, including preparing purchase orders and processing or distributing supply requests (where applicable in an office environment).

What we are looking for :

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment.
  • Completion of secondary school and/or enrollment in a post-secondary program (college or university).
  • Ability to follow instructions, apply established procedures, and complete tasks with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and receive feedback.
  • Clear communication skills for exchanging straightforward information in routine situations.
  • Customer service experience in person and on the telephone is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Self starter with strong organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to be a supportive and productive team member.

Working conditions:

  • The majority of work is performed in a friendly office environment that is clean and comfortable. located at the Sudbury Office of the Canadian Red Cross.
  • Hours of service are based on 35-hour week Monday to Friday.
  • Candidates must meet the criteriaestablishedby Service Canada for Canada Summer Jobs
    • The candidate must be a Canadian Citizen, PermanentResidentOr the person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
    • The candidate must be between 15 and 30 years of age
    • Willing to work for 2 months
    • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canadain accordance withrelevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Please note that there is no relocation package for this position.
  • If you are selected for this role, you will be required to complete a successful pre-employment screening process which includes a satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC).
