Role Overview
The Regional Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of the firm's marketing and communications efforts across all provinces. This position works closely with lawyers, practice groups, and internal teams in all four provinces to ensure brand consistency, develop compelling content, and support key marketing and communications initiatives.
Reporting to the Regional Marketing Manager, the Regional Marketing & Communications Coordinator will:
Advertising, Design & Brand
- Help develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns aligned with the firm's business objectives.
- Draft strategic briefs for advertising and promotional campaigns and projects, including timeline and expense management.
- Assist with the development of creative assets, including ads, collateral, videos and drafting related copy.
- Coordinate the sourcing and ordering of firm-branded promotional items.
- Coordinate media buys, including scheduling, purchase and final file delivery of media assets.
- Liaise with the firm's creative, printing and promotional agencies.
- Provide marketing and communications support to the firm's regional committees.
- Work with local offices to ensure that all content and collateral align with the firm's brand positioning, key messaging, tone and graphic standards.
Social Media
- Help to fulfill the firm's social media strategy, including drafting and posting timely content and responses, graphics creation, monitoring engagement activity, and maintaining a content calendar.
- Identify opportunities to post firm news to promote the firm and its lawyers.
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations.
- Stay informed on social media trends and industry best practices.
- Monitor social media account activity and set notifications. Use discretion to escalate issues to the Regional Marketing Manager.
Communications
- Write targeted, compelling and on-brand content for marketing and communications materials, including the website, social media, media releases, advertising, speaking notes and internal communications.
Website
- Make timely updates to bios, news announcements, articles and other, as required.
- Translate content for the French site in a timely manner.
- Coordinate troubleshooting with agency partners.
- Regularly track website analytics to measure performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
Industry Directories & Awards
- Track and coordinate industry directory updates across all offices, ensuring criteria and deadlines are met.
- Track and draft awards submissions, including conducting research, writing submissions, and ensuring specifications and key deadlines are met.
- Coordinate attendance at related awards galas.
- Coordinate promotional planning and execution of successful directory and award rankings.
Other Requirements
- Provide administrative support to the Regional Marketing Department, including processing invoices and expenses, maintaining departmental files in an organized manner, maintaining firm software passwords and users, scheduling meetings and scheduling departmental travel.
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours as needed to support business and event requirements.
- Monitor emails after hours for potential issues or time-sensitive matters that require a timely response or escalation to the Regional Marketing Manager.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks including packaging promotional items, completing local errands and assisting the team with event materials setup.
- Some inter-office travel may be required.
- Other duties, as required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- A University degree or diploma in marketing, communications/public relations, business, or a related field.
- Experience working in a law firm, professional services environment and/or advertising or communications agency is considered an asset.
- 2-3 years of experience as a Marketing Coordinator or equivalent role.
- Experience with effectively using social media.
- Proficient with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
- Proficiency with marketing tools such as CRM software, email marketing software, survey software, social media management tools and graphic design tools such as Canva.
- Experience with website management (WordPress or similar) and analytics tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality output.
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling content while remaining on brand.
- Highly organized, multi-tasker with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
- The ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Self-starter, resourceful, demonstrates initiative and strong work ethic.
- Ability to adapt easily to change and highly motivated to handle a fast-paced environment.
