ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NL Health Services – Central Zone is seeking four (4) permanent full-time Radiologists at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

Central Zone is the second largest health zone in NL Health Services, serving approximately 90,000 people across 176 communities. The region extends from Charlottetown in the east, Fogo Island in the north, Harbour Breton in the south, to Baie Verte in the west — encompassing more than half the total land mass of the island of Newfoundland.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
• Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification in Radiology (or equivalent)
• Eligible for licensure as a Radiologist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
• Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
• Previous experience considered an asset

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interpret imaging studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine examinations to provide accurate diagnostic reports
• Perform image-guided procedures including biopsies, drainages, and injections using imaging modalities such as ultrasound, CT, and fluoroscopy
• Collaborate closely with referring physicians, offering consultations on imaging findings and recommendations for further diagnostic or therapeutic steps
• Provide on-call and emergency coverage including rapid interpretation of urgent studies such as trauma scans, stroke imaging, and chest X-rays for acutely ill patients
• Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

REMUNERATION

Remuneration is Fee-For-Service in accordance with the Medical Care Plan (MCP) Fee Schedule. Eligibility for benefits is determined by the provincial Memorandum of Agreement.
