The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Procurement BPO to join our Procurement team in Toronto.

This is a permanent position.

As the Senior Analyst, Category Procurement, you will support the activities delivered by the Business Process Operations team (BPO). This individual will be the first point of contact to bridge gaps between the local operations, vendors and the BPO team. At times, incumbent will need to execute or support the procurement of materials, equipment and services at the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) possible. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in procurement processes, cost analysis and data analytics. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills, communication skills, a customer service-driven mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment; always seeking opportunities to help the BPO team achieve SLAs and KPIs.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Lead and support request for proposal (RFP) processes to meet the requirements of the internal customers ensuring satisfactory technical/commercial/social evaluations.
  • Ensure that all procurement activities are carried out in a timely and financially responsible manner, to best meet organizational objectives in compliance with corporate policies.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis to support the best procurement decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct negotiations of increased complexity to secure favorable terms, minimize risks, and generate the best value for the Company.
  • Analyze data, market trends, supplier capabilities, and contractual requirements to identify trends and provide actionable insights and procurement decisions for the assigned categories and contracts.
  • Apply analytical thinking to run commercial analysis of proposals, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis, productivity analysis and other cost modeling including price baseline and benchmarking to support Procurement recommendations to control costs and optimize spend.
  • Lead and support strategic and contract management activities including changes orders, claims, back charges and penalties, new prices, dispute handling and resolution with input from technical area.
  • Establish contracting strategies & draft contracts for services, subcontracts or equipment while incorporating contractor obligations to mitigate risks.
  • Provide short- to medium-term planning, scheduling, and coordinating for the supply of materials, services, and equipment.
  • Responsible and accountable for the full Procure to Pay process.

About You

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree

Experience:

  • 6-8 years' of work experience

Skills:

  • Good knowledge of strategic thinking, risk management, people leadership, interpretation of contractual documents, Impact and Benefit Agreement (IBA) experience, Environmental Social, and Governance (ESG) experience, safety culture, and plant experience/technical knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office business suites applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Coupa, Oracle, JD Edwards).
  • Experience with business process operations (BPO) and third-party managed services.
  • Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Communicate effectively, accurately, and proactively. Portuguese is an asset
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to evaluate and improve processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve the common goals of the department and business.
  • Capable of making informed decisions and recommendations based on data analysis, understanding the big picture of the business.
  • Strong Presentation Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of market trends.
  • Adapt to changing environments and requirements.
  • Be open to feedback and have high self-awareness.
  • Assist in resolving and finding long-term solutions to supply issues within the business.
  • Assist in training and mentorship of team members.
  • Lead initiatives to improve procurement processes and resolve complex issues across multiple lines of business around parked invoice issues, open order follow-ups, vendor registrations and amendments, and various issues coming to the central mailbox.
