The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Shutdown Coordinator to join our Planning & Control Team in Long Harbour, NL. Relocation to the province of Newfoundland & Labrador will be required for this role.

This is a permanent on-site position, working a 4x10s Monday to Thursday schedule at the Long Harbour Operations site in Long Harbour, NL.

As a Shutdown Coordinator, you will ensure the successful execution of planned shutdowns and turnarounds in an industrial setting. Your experience and skills will effectively manage and coordinate all activities related to the shutdown process.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Develop detailed shutdown plans with input from various teams, identify potential risks, complete risk rankings, and prepare contingency measures to address those risks.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive master schedule, coordinate tasks across multiple departments and contractors to ensure smooth execution.
  • Secure all necessary personnel, equipment, and materials to meet the specific shutdown needs.
  • Ensure that all work adheres to safety standards and regulatory requirements, while also organizing safety briefings and establishing emergency procedures.
  • Work closely with various departments to ensure all preparatory work is completed before the shutdown.
  • Manage the shutdown budget, track expenses, and actively seek opportunities to reduce costs without compromising safety or quality.

About You

Education:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering Degree, Engineering Technologist Diploma, or Interprovincial Red Seal is required.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be considered an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Planning and/or Shutdown Coordination in an industrial setting.
  • Previous experience in SAP and Microsoft 365.

Skills:

  • Detailed-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
