Position: Part-Time Security Guard

Site: St. Clair College South Campus

Address: 2000 Talbot Rd West, Windsor Ontario

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours: Saturday and Sunday 15:00 – 23:00hrs

Payrate: $21.02/hour

Please note, students currently enrolled with St. Clair College are not eligible to apply for this position.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security.
  • Perform regular security checks of the property, including parking areas, entrances, exits, and other designated areas.
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
  • Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed.
  • Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.
  • Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
  • Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly.
  • Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
  • Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites, patrol assigned areas to monitor activities and ensure client rules and regulations are followed.
  • Maintain written reports.
  • Perform security checks and liaise with students, customers, and the public.
  • Ensure site safety and emergency procedures are followed and maintain written reports.
  • Enforce compliance to company policies and procedures.
  • First aid – be prepared to administer when required.
  • Maintaining a positive, productive work environment through collaboration.
  • Perform miscellaneous job–related duties as assigned.

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Covid Vaccine two doses
  • Valid G Class Ontario Driver's License & Clean Drivers Abstract – Driving required
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
