The Opportunity
As Project Coordinator for our Post-Secondary Talent Attraction Initiative, you will serve as an ambassador for the Saint John Region, engaging with post-secondary students at campuses across Atlantic Canada to promote the region as a great place to live, work and play.
This entry-level role is intentionally designed for recent graduates or early-career professionals who are excited to build real-world experience by leading events, building relationships, and connecting directly with students and young professionals. We're looking for someone who brings energy, relatability, and a passion for community-building.
You will report to the Director of Population Growth and Workforce Development and collaborate closely with various teams across the agency.
What you will do:
- Represent the Saint John Region as the face of the Post-Secondary Talent Attraction Initiative at post-secondary campuses and community events across Atlantic Canada.
- Act as a passionate ambassador, sharing stories and opportunities that highlight the region as a place to live, work, and play.
- Coordinate and deliver engaging on-campus activations and outreach activities that showcase the lifestyle, career potential, and welcoming community in the region.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, campus partners, local employers, and key stakeholders such as WorkingNB, settlement agencies, post-secondary institutions, and community organizations.
- Travel frequently throughout Atlantic Canada to lead events and maintain stakeholder connections (valid driver's license required).
- Coordinate the initiative's implementation, ensuring that research, marketing, outreach, and evaluation activities are progressing effectively and on schedule.
- Track engagement metrics and provide regular updates.
- Contribute to other tasks and team efforts as needed.
Your qualifications:
- You're genuinely passionate about the Saint John Region and bring lived experience or a strong connection that makes you a natural ambassador.
- You understand the transition from school to work and are eager to support others navigating that path.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in student engagement, recruitment, sales, or community outreach (through work, internships, or volunteer roles).
- This entry-level role is best suited for recent graduates or early-career professionals beginning their professional journey.
- A relationship-builder who enjoys connecting with people and speaking to groups.
- Proactive and adaptable, with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and embrace new challenges.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal); additional languages, especially French, are a definite asset.
- Comfortable working independently and travelling regularly.
- Valid driver's license and ability to provide a clean driver's abstract.
