The Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) is dedicated to supporting Indigenous peoples in reaching their full economic development potential through advocacy and networking. JEDI invites applications for a reliable Trailer Driver with a passion for safe driving practices and efficient delivery.

The position will operate on a casual contract as-needed basis to safely and efficiently deliver JEDI's trailer mobile units to and from various events throughout New Brunswick.

Basic vehicle information:

  • Transportation vehicle (provided by JEDI): 2025 Ford F550-Diesel
  • The Trades Trailer length: 25'
  • The Makerspace Trailer length: 36'

The duties and responsibilities listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Safely attach/detach mobile unit trailer, transport, and perform basic trailer setup/pack up in specified locations.
  • Communicate with team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise during transportation.
  • Perform routine pre and post trip visual inspections on vehicles for roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations, and inform JEDI management of any issues promptly.
  • Adhere to all relevant driving laws and regulations, JEDI policies, and safety procedures at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience and reliability in similar commercial driving.
  • Valid Class 3 driver's license with a clean driving record. JEDI will require a driver's abstract.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of basic automotive inspection and assessment.

Salary: $30 per hour. For any events requiring an overnight stay, accommodations and expenses will be provided.
