The salary scale for Professional Support 3 is based on steps that range from $72,470.25 - $93,456.74. New Professional Support employees may receive up to a maximum of seven steps for relevant occupational experience which is $81,859.58 annually.

Responsabilités

Reporting to the Associate Registrar, Student Recruitment, and maintaining strong connectivity to the Strait Area Campus, you will:

Work both collaboratively and independently to advance NSCC's Nautical Institute's recruitment strategy by cultivating a diverse pool of prospective students. You bring a deep understanding of the competitive post-secondary landscape and recognize the importance of promoting the NSCC student experience and its strong industry connections through exceptional service and genuine care for prospects, applicants, and students.

This role involves developing and executing recruitment strategies across diverse student populations. You will focus on creating inclusive pathways for students interested in marine programming, with a particular emphasis on Mi'kmaq and Indigenous learners, as well as women. You will help build and sustain meaningful partnerships with Mi'kmaq communities and Indigenous-serving organizations, supporting students throughout their application journey and transition to NSCC. Key responsibilities include identifying recruitment opportunities, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and enhancing recruitment capacity across the College.

As Student Recruitment Coordinator, you will actively develop and deliver presentations and represent NSCC at recruitment, community, and industry events. You will also contribute to social media outreach and support the development and implementation of a marine programming recruitment plan. This includes tracking and analyzing data to inform strategic recruitment decisions.

A strong understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing and being is essential for engaging with prospective students, their communities, and Mi'kmaq-supporting agencies.

This position requires extensive travel and a flexible work schedule.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree or a college advanced diploma with specific training in communications and strategic planning.
  • You have a minimum of three years (full time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in student services, recruitment, marketing, or a related field.
  • You have experience engaging and supporting Indigenous students, communities and/or organizations.

  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, social media platforms and CRM platforms.

  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience.

Relevant Skills and Knowledge:

  • You demonstrate a strong dedication to principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility (IDEA), and anti-racism, actively fostering environments where all individuals feel valued and respected.

  • You have exceptional public speaking abilities, with a proven track record of delivering compelling and informative recruitment presentations to diverse audiences.

  • You have outstanding teamwork skills, consistently contributing to a positive, respectful, and productive team environment through open communication, shared goals, and mutual support.
  • You have specific technical occupational knowledge and skill in digital environments to engage with students across multiple platforms (social media, CRM, webinars).
  • You are recognized for strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying challenges, analyzing options, and implementing effective solutions.
  • You are a confident and articulate communicator, skilled in conveying information clearly and persuasively across diverse audiences and communication channels.
  • You possess excellent coordination skills specifically related to logistics, planning and executing special events on and off campus.
  • You have proven records and information management skills and abilities to use student databases, communication systems and digital platforms specifically related to student recruitment
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position.
