We're seeking applications for casual Skate Instructors. If you have experience leading learn to skate programming, enjoy working with groups of all ages and sharing in the fun of skating, we want to hear from you!
Skate Instructors work with our Community Recreation Coordinator to deliver learn to skate instruction to various skating levels in a safe, respectful and inclusive environment.
What you can offer:
- NCCP accreditation, an asset
- Experience providing skate lessons
- Experience working with all ages (children, youth, and adults) in a recreation setting preferred
- Basic understanding of healthy child development and inclusion best practices
- Valid Basic Workplace First Aid, or willingness to obtain required
- Clean Vulnerable Sector and Child Abuse Registry Checks
- Solid understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging with skills to foster a welcoming and accessible environment for all participants
Programs will be offered at the East Hants Sportsplex, but may be extended to other areas to serve the Municipality.
Hours: 5-10 hours p/week
Hourly Rates: Lead Instructor - $32 p/hour; Assistant Instructor - $25 p/hour
