Information Technology and Services at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the position of Analyst/Programmer.
As a member of the Systems and Web Services team, the Analyst/Programmer's primary functions are systems analysis, patching/updates, problem solving, project coordination, documentation, and operational support of university administrative systems.
- Write, modify and test code
- Maintain existing solutions by making modifications as required
- Investigate and communicate technical issues, processes and solutions
- Prepare documentation on the operation and maintenance of software
- Collect and document user requirements for changes to or introduction of new software
- Research and evaluate software products for potential solution delivery
- Patch and Upgrade software
The Mount is seeking an IT professional to provide operational support and project support for our administrative systems. The position requires proficient written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated problem solving skills, the ability to learn quickly, and a strong customer service ethic. A willingness to work flexible hours is necessary to meet some deadlines.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another related discipline, or a degree equivalent, and a minimum of five years' related experience.
Proven experience with programming languages such as Unibasic, Javascript, C#, or Visual Basic is required. Proven experience in database administration such as Unidata, MySQL, or MS SQL is required. Applicants must be able to demonstrate direct experience with programming languages, database administration, SharePoint, report writing systems (such as Entrinsik Informer), and ERP systems (ideally Ellucian Colleague) in their application.
Classification: Permanent, Full-Time NSGEU, Level 8 Position (currently under review)
Starting Salary: $53,865 per annum (Step Progression: $53,865 to $64,314 per annum)
