We are seeking a talented and motivated post-secondary graduate for a 1-year contract (with possibility of extension) to work in the new Genesis AI Garage. This is a unique opportunity to apply your AI skills and knowledge to real-world challenges, working closely with a dynamic team of entrepreneurs and industry experts. Industry experience would be considered to be a key asset.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Collaborate with the startup teams to understand project objectives and develop AI solutions that align with business goals.
- Design, develop, and implement machine learning models, algorithms, and data-driven solutions.
- Conduct data preprocessing, analysis, and feature engineering to support model development.
- Evaluate and optimize model performance, ensuring robustness and scalability.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into the startup's product or service offerings.
- Present findings, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in AI and machine learning.
Qualifications and Skills
- Graduate of a post-secondary institution residing in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Strong foundation in machine learning, data science, and AI principles.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Familiarity with data manipulation tools (e.g., pandas, NumPy) and databases (SQL, NoSQL).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Candidates must be legally permitted to work in Canada
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- Experience preferred in a startup environment or with entrepreneurial projects.
- Experience working in a collaborative / team environment is preferred
