Meridia Recruitment Solutions is thrilled to partner with Atlantic Grocery Distributors in seeking a Retail Procurement Manager to join their management team in Bay Roberts, NL.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping procurement strategy, strengthening vendor relationships, and guiding a high-performing team. You'll play a central role in optimizing the retail product portfolio, driving profitability, and enhancing AGD's market presence.

As a key member of the leadership team, you'll work cross-functionally with Advertising, Retail Operations, and Human Resources to ensure procurement efforts align with business goals and community values.

The Opportunity:

Lead and Develop a High-Performance Team
Provide strategic direction and mentorship to the Retail Procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. You'll coach team members, align goals with KPIs, and support career development through structured feedback and learning opportunities.

Drive Vendor and Supply Chain Strategy
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, with a focus on Tier 1 retail partnerships and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) vendors. You'll lead contract negotiations, annual planning, and business reviews to ensure mutual value and strategic alignment.

Optimize Portfolio and Profitability
Oversee product selection and performance, focusing on margin improvement, inventory turnover, and cost efficiency. You'll identify market trends and sourcing opportunities that enhance both AGD's profitability and customer satisfaction.

Collaborate on Retail Promotion and Marketing
Work closely with Advertising and Retail Operations to shape promotional strategies and in-store marketing programs for Powell's Supermarkets, Value Grocer, and Foodex stores. Your efforts will help drive store traffic, boost shelf impact, and increase sales.

Key Selection Criteria:

Education & Credentials:

• Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or retail operations, ideally in a leadership capacity.
• Strong background in vendor negotiations, portfolio management, and team development.

Skills:

• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
• Ability to analyze data, manage performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
