Engineering Technologist I - Engineering Approvals or Operations Technologist - Engineering Approvals
We are currently hiring for one (1) Engineering Technologist I - Engineering Approvals or Operations Technologists - Engineering Approvals. This is a term opportunity for a period of approximately 6-12 months, in the Engineering & Capital Infrastructure Department, all have full time hours.
What the Engineering Approvals Team is responsible for:
- Connections to, and extensions of, the Halifax Water Systems
As an Engineering Technologist, you will:
- Witness the testing of Service Connections, Subdivision and appurtenances attaching to the Halifax Water Systems
- Provide the provision of inspecting the installation of water, wastewater, and stormwater connections and appurtenances to, single unit dwellings and townhouses within planned ares where public side service connections have been installed as part of a major subdivision.
- Collect, produce, and retrieve record information
As an Operations Technologist, you will:
- Inspect the installation of Service Connections and appurtenances attaching to the Halifax Water Systems
- Audit the installation of water, wastewater and stormwater main extensions and appurtenances attaching to the Halifax Water Systems
- Collect, produce, and retrieve record information
To do this job, you need to have:
- Experience in a municipal engineering field would be an asset for the Engineering Technologist role.
- Registered as an Associate Engineering Technologist with TechNova for the Engineering Technologist role.
- Five (5) years of experience in the municipal engineering field for the Operations Technologist role.
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation for the Opreations Technologist role
- Post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
- Valid driver's license.
