About the Role
Labrador-Grenfell Zone is presently seeking the services of an Audiologist to be part of our team of four Speech-Language Pathologists serving a population of approximately 37,000. This position reports to the Regional Program Manager of Rehabilitation and Intervention Services and offers an excellent opportunity to apply and develop skills while providing a variety of audiological services to persons of all age groups with concerns of hearing and auditory function. Both Diagnostic and Rehabilitation services are provided, including a universal newborn hearing screening program and hearing aid dispensing through the Provincial Hearing Aid Screening Program.
Members of the Rehabilitation Services Department are located in various areas of Labrador-Grenfell Zone and enjoy working in this team-based, client-focused, professional environment, which is both supportive and stimulating. The successful candidate will be committed to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements.
Qualifications:
? Applicants must possess a master?s degree in Audiology from a recognized university and be able to supply documentation of courses and clinical practice hours upon request
? An independent review of credentials may be required for international candidates
? Must be registered with the College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Newfoundland and Labrador (NASLPA)
? Must be eligible for CASLPA certification
? Willingness to travel within the Labrador ? Grenfell Health region for provision of services will be required
? Valid driver?s license
? The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory record of work performance
? The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check
Duties (include but not limited to):
? Identifies, evaluates, and rehabilitates clients of all ages in the Labrador ?Grenfell Health region who suffer from auditory disorders
? Develops and implements programs geared to maximizing the chances for early identification of auditory disorders in all ages
? Conducts noise conservation program to decrease the degree of noise hazard in the workplace and to promote better hearing through ear protection and education
? Maintains detailed client records; Maintain statistical data; submits quarterly and annual reports to supervisor; prepares annual budget and monitor monthly variances
? Ensures regular maintenance/calibration of auditory equipment, monitors supplies and recorders supplies
? Participates in multi-disciplinary teams, regionally and provincially, accreditation process and continuous quality improvement initiatives
? Ensures up to date departmental policies and procedures
? Travels regularly within the Labrador ? Grenfell Health region for provision of services
? Other duties as required
? May be required to work alone
Salary
? CG-44 of the Nape HP Salary Scales, $44.23 to $52.18 per hour plus Labrador Allowance (if applicable)

Hours of Work:
? Hours of work will follow the flexible work schedule in accordance with Article 19.01(a) of the NAPE-HP Collective Agreement, based on 75 hours bi-weekly (by mutual agreement). Variable shifts may apply.
