The Opportunity?

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to join us at our poultry processing plant. In this role you will be responsible for supervision of maintenance staff while coordinating daily maintenance activities to ensure they are completed safely and efficiently. You will oversee the preventative maintenance program and direct facility and equipment maintenance/repairs. You will also assist in maintenance planning and monitoring parts inventories. This position will require a scheduled rotation between day shift and night shift.

Duties and Responsibilities?

Key expectations for this role will include:

• Effectively manage daily activities of maintenance staff; including training, performance management, employee coaching, scheduling and leave management
• Provide technical advice and guidance regarding the repair and maintenance of all machines and equipment
• Ensure the preventative maintenance program is effectively followed
• Assist in the planning for and oversee new machinery installations and building renovations.
• Recommend changes in equipment design or layout, or operation to improve product quality or plant productivity.
• Responsible for departmental OHS and food safety by ensuring employees always follow safe work procedures
• Lead weekly maintenance meetings
• Analyze departmental performance indicators and make improvements as required
• Coordinate and supervise outside contractors as required
• Requisition supplies and materials required for the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
• Authorizes overtime and verifies employee time records

Is role right for you?

If you are highly motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills this could be a great opportunity for you. This role requires proven leadership and strong problem solving capabilities. You will have completed a post-secondary Engineering/Technology program or an Industrial Mechanic or Electrical Interprovincial certificate. This will be combined with 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, processing or similar work environment.
