Halifax Water is hiring for the job of Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) Engineer. This is a regular opportunity in the Engineering & Capital Infrastructure Department and has full time hours.
What the Asset Management Team does:
- Delivers asset management and infrastructure master planning projects, including update of Halifax Water's Integrated Resource Plan (IRP).
- Leads investigations to confirm levels of service, fill data gaps, and determine asset condition.
- Administers key data collection programs that inform work done by other departments.
- Coordinates annual capital budget development.
- Provides regular reporting on Halifax Water's assets (state of good repair and planning for our future services).
- Supports Halifax Water's response to customers' service expectations and growth demands.
As an IRP Engineer, you will:
- Provide project management support for Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) updates, the Growth Servicing Strategy (GSS), and associated studies and investigations that arise from IRP or GSS.
- Coordinate data information requests, meetings, and workshops bookings.
- Attend meetings and record key decisions and actions.
- Provide project management support for the successful delivery of master planning activities.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement activities.
- Apply water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure experience and use engineering judgement to guide project decisions.
To do this job, you need:
- A post-secondary education in Engineering (civil, municipal, environmental, or equivalent).
- A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
- Five years of progressively responsible related engineering experience with a focus on municipal engineering, long-term infrastructure planning, or asset management initiatives.
- Experience participating in or coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
