Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Technician or Industrial Electrician

Location: Oxford, Nova Scotia

Partnered with Meridia, Oxford Frozen Foods is looking for an Electro-Mechanical Technician or Industrial Electrician to provide support within their flagship facility based in Oxford, Nova Scotia.

Role Description

As an Industrial Electrician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the electrical systems that keep Oxford's advanced manufacturing operations running smoothly. You will analyze system logs, troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, install and wire new industrial equipment, and assemble control panels to ensure operational excellence. This position requires collaboration across teams to quickly resolve issues and minimize downtime in a fast-paced, automated environment. The role follows a rotating shift schedule of two weeks on days and two weeks on nights, with every other weekend off.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze system logs, error codes, and performance data to diagnose and correct electrical issues
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to ensure timely resolution of electrical problems
  • Install and terminate wiring for new equipment following engineering drawings, schematics, and safety standards
  • Perform continuity and insulation resistance testing to ensure electrical integrity and safety
  • Assemble, wire, and test electrical control panels and enclosures to meet design specifications and quality standards
  • Select, install, and maintain electrical components including circuit breakers, relays, contactors, and terminal blocks
  • Ensure all work complies with regulatory codes and company safety policies
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
  • Support Oxford's sustainability goals by identifying and reporting green waste such as air or water leaks

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with solid experience in maintaining and troubleshooting automated industrial equipment within a manufacturing or maintenance setting. You should have practical skills in preventative and predictive electrical maintenance and a deep understanding of electrical systems and controls. Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals comes naturally to you. You work well both independently and as part of a team, and thrive in dynamic, fast-moving environments that require flexibility.

Your qualifications include:

  • Completion of the Electro-Mechanical Technician program or an Industrial Electrician training; Red Seal certification is an asset (third or fourth-year apprentices may be considered).
  • Applicants with significant hands-on experience in industrial electrical roles may also be considered in place of formal education.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting or industrial maintenance, is preferred.

  • Stainless steel welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with safety best practices and electrical codes.
