Job Overview
The Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) supports the objectives and goals of Harbour View Haven in the provision of personal care and support services to residents. CCAs shall contribute to the establishment of residents' good health, safety and comfort, while working within established facility philosophies, policies and practices.

Duties:

• Assists clients with hygiene needs and daily living activities including bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, positioning in bed, feeding and transferring.
• Application of Medicated Creams, Ointments, Drops and Sprays
• Assist in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis.
• Have the ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis
• Have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including safe lifting, push, pull and bending with demonstrated use of proper body mechanics
• Have good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to resolve conflicts
• Maintain confidentiality concerning residents, staff and organizational information
• Understand and support the principles of Resident Focused care
• Be a respectful and hardworking team player with a professional and courteous manner
• Communicate and report relevant information regarding resident care and any health and safety issues to your Supervisor.
• Provide a criminal record check.

Skills

• Previous experience in senior care or caregiving is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of patient care practices and principles related to Long Term Care Homes or similar environments.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
• Capability to handle heavy lifting tasks while ensuring client safety during mobility assistance.
