Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Clerk IV to support the daily operations of the Language Access and French Services office. The Clerk IV will be responsible for handling administrative tasks, managing schedules, maintaining records, and assisting interpreters and clients to ensure efficient and smooth service delivery. This role involves processing translation and interpretation service requests, scheduling interpretation sessions, and managing interpreter availability. The Clerk IV maintains comprehensive records of interpretation and translation services, including invoices, payments, and service logs. They also handle correspondence, phone calls, and emails related to interpretation, translation, and French language services, while providing logistical support and necessary materials to interpreters.

The Clerk IV performs a range of administrative and clerical duties to support office operations, including data entry, document management, and report preparation. The Clerk IV assists with billing and payment processing, maintains a well-organized office environment, and supports interpreters with materials and logistics while contributing to the overall efficiency of the office by performing additional tasks as needed.

Job Demands

Regularly lifts objects weighing less than 5 lbs and occasionally up to 10 lbs.
Work provides the opportunity to stand and walk within the office environment.
Constantly required to use fine/finger precision work while entering/maintaining data, as well as a constant requirement for eye/hand coordination to ensure precision in completing work and maintaining database files.
Regularly requires bilateral repetitive fine motor skills (i.e. typing and mousing) while entering/maintaining data, as well as a constant requirement for eye/hand coordination to ensure precision in completing work and maintaining database files.

Qualification Requirements:

Education
Successful completion of a two-year Office Administration or Business Administrative program from an approved/recognized college is required.

Experience
Demonstrated experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably in an interpretation or translation environment.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Knowledge of multiple languages is an advantage but not required.

Other
Fluency in French is a requirement.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
