The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Manager IT - Finance, Contract & Vendor Management to join our Global Information Technology team in Belo Horizonte/Rio/Toronto/Sudbury.

This is a permanent Onsite position.

As a Manager IT - Finance, Contract & Vendor Management, you will be responsible for the Vale Base Metals finance, contract and vendor management function for the global IT Department. This role focuses on daily operating activities supporting the functional management of the Vale Base Metals IT Areas including Planning & Business Partnership, Canadian and International Operations & Projects, Brazil & Global Operations & Projects, Data and Analytics, Governance and Architecture as well as Major Programs Delivery. Your experience and skill will allow you to interact directly with the Vale Base Metals FP&A team ensuring accurate financial statements, tax reporting and adjusting financial structures to ensure legal tax compliance as well as being the key focal point for internal audit.

Additionally, in this position you will:

• Manage the budgeting, reporting and financial management of the Vale Base Metals IT Project execution portfolio including oversight of all inputs and demands from the individual assets and financial outputs from the process, working closely with Finance leaders across Vale Base Metals to support budget demands and project delivery, with key oversight on budgetary constraints, risks and decision for how to manage the portfolio within budget.
• Be responsible for all contracts / vendor management for the Vale Base Metals IT Department. This includes oversight of the contract life cycle from demand to execution and close-out and act as the focal point for legal compliance of the agreements and monitoring and managing risks to the business. The individual will manage day-to-day relationships with suppliers, vendors, third parties, and partners.
• Oversee key business stakeholder relationships and ensure proper IT finance, contract and vendor management processes are in place to exceed expectations.
• Design and implement the system for evaluation of the Portfolio budget for the strategic fit to the VBM initiatives including ROI, resource capabilities and risk. Collaborate with stakeholders to review system results and prioritize based on the alignment of the objectives.
• Manage procurement transactional activities and vendor relations in alignment with the VBM procurement function which may include transactional procurement services, specifications and demand requirements coordination, contract negotiation, sourcing options evaluation, vendor issue resolution, and regional specific sourcing requirements integration.
• Manage the activities of a team of IT analysts covering IT finance, contract, and vendor management globally, ensuring high-quality service delivery. Provide directions and guidance to IT managers to guarantee the results of the main objectives.

About You

Education:

• Undergraduate degree or diploma in Information Technology, Business, Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain Management or Engineering.

Experience:nting, and vendor management

Skills:

• Proven experience in budget management, financial accounting, and vendor management.
• Strong understanding of financial processes, reporting, and transaction processing.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a geographically dispersed team of analysts (across various time zones).
• Experience in ITOT budget management and financial control activities.
• Knowledge of contract management and dispute resolution processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Finance and Procurement.
• Additional languages such as Portuguese, and/or French, would be advantageous.
