Venor is proud to partner with Holland Power Services in their search for a Vice President of Corporate Services to join their team in Fredericton, NB

Holland Power Services (HPS), a subsidiary of Alectra Inc., is a recognized leader in emergency utility services across North America, with operations spanning New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, and New England. Specializing in power restoration and utility construction, HPS is known for its rapid deployment capabilities, unwavering commitment to safety, and exceptional service to both communities and utility clients during storm response and day-to-day operations.

This role calls for a candidate with an entrepreneurial mentality-a leader with vigour, passion, and the strength of character to thrive in a fast-paced, operationally intense environment. A blend of financial rigour, strategic foresight, and outside-the-box thinking will be critical to success. The ideal candidate will bring a strong pedigree of executive leadership and an ability to mobilize cross-functional teams with a high sense of urgency and precision.

As the organization continues to evolve and grow, HPS is seeking an accomplished and pragmatic executive to join its leadership team. The Vice President of Corporate Services will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational and strategic direction of the organization, ensuring that corporate functions remain agile, scalable, and tightly aligned with business priorities-whether in 'blue sky' (steady-state operations) or 'grey sky' (storm-response) conditions.

Reporting directly to the President and serving as a key member of the executive team, the Vice President of Corporate Services will oversee a broad portfolio of functions, including corporate finance and accounting, human resources, safety, taxation, IT, insurance, storm administration, and change management.

What you'll be doing:

Strategic and Financial Leadership: Lead corporate finance and accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure sound financial stewardship. Oversee insurance, investor relations and treasury, and taxation strategies in alignment with organizational goals.

People and Culture: Oversee recruitment, development, organizational effectiveness, and retention strategies while fostering a culture of accountability, trust, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Storm Administration: Play an active leadership role within HPS's Incident Command Structure during storm activations, providing oversight for storm administration, corporate support coordination, and ensuring business continuity from the office environment.

ERP System Implementation: Serve as executive sponsor for the selection and implementation of a new ERP system, driving organizational adoption and cross-functional engagement through effective change management practices.

Organizational Change and Growth: Champion business transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, and customer value, ensuring corporate functions evolve in step with a growing and increasingly complex operational footprint.

Leadership and Governance: Support board and executive reporting, including the preparation of financial reports, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, as well as strategic updates. Provide administration, financial leadership, and integration consistency across subsidiaries.

What we are looking for:

A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline; CPA designation is a must.

A minimum of 10 years of progressive senior leadership experience, ideally within operationally complex, field services, or industry environments.

Demonstrated success in corporate financial management, HR leadership, ERP implementation, and business transformation initiatives.

A dynamic, adaptable leader with outside-of-the-box thinking and a bias for action-someone who embodies urgency, not just in crisis but in everyday execution.

A strong business and financial pedigree, paired with a pragmatic, hands-on leadership approach and high business acumen.

Experience working within or alongside large corporate groups, balancing operational autonomy with corporate accountability.

Familiarity with IFRS reporting and cross-border compliance requirements is considered a must.

Strong strategic, financial, and operational acumen, with a dynamic leadership style.

Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, capable of building trusted relationships with their team, customers, and executive teams.

A high-readiness mindset, able to operate effectively in both normal operations and emergency storm-response conditions.

At Venor and Holland Power Services, we embrace a culture of belonging in the workplace. No matter who you are, where you're from, how you think, what you believe in, or who you love, we welcome your application. We all come from different backgrounds and different walks of life, bringing in unique perspectives and experiences. We encourage applications from 2SLGBTQ+, Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC), women, newcomers to Canada, and people with disabilities.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a purpose-driven, high-impact leader to influence real operational outcomes in a company that plays a critical role in the energy industry across North America. If you're ready to apply your entrepreneurial mindset, financial rigour, and strategic foresight in a values-driven, fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.
