The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Specialist, Identity Management to join our Information Technology team in Toronto/Mississauga/Sudbury.

This is a permanent Onsite position.

As a Specialist, Identity Management, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the identity and access management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) components within VBM's Foundation Application portfolio. This role focuses on ensuring the security and efficiency of user authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle management processes. Your experience and skill will allow you to work closely with the Supervisor of Foundation Applications and other cross-functional teams to implement effective, sustainable, and cyber-resilient IAM solutions

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Implement access control models, such as RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and ABAC (Attribute-Based Access Control).
  • Implement security controls to protect IAM and PAM systems from unauthorized access and attacks.
  • Ensure systems comply with relevant security standards and regulations.
  • Create and monitor performance indicators to track and manage risks associated with IAM technologies.
  • Develop and implement strategies for identity, privileged and access management to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of foundational systems.
  • Document IAM and PAM policies, procedures, and configurations. Work closely with the Supervisor of Foundation Applications to oversee a managed services (third-party) responsible for the day-to-day support of IAM components.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring service delivery and budget compliance.

About You

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Cyber Security Certification preferred
  • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification preferred

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Identity Management that includes;
  • 4 years of dedicated identity administration and governance experience.
  • 1 -3 years Designing and implementing identity solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience in an IT Team Lead capacity

Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Single-Sign On (SSO), and Federated Identities.
  • Proven knowledge of security (CIDPRO)
  • Proven hands-on experience with developing/architecting solutions using two or more leading IAM Solution providers such as Azure Entra ID, Okta, Sailpoint, Saviynt, CyberArc, BeyondTrust
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, such as PowerShell and Python, to automate IAM tasks
  • Excellent knowledge of MFA, risk based and adaptive access control and protocols such as OpenID Connect, SAML, OAuth 2.0, MFA and SCIM.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, disaster recovery, business continuity, IT security architecture, and IT regulatory compliance
  • Methodical and able to follow documented procedures and instructions
  • Ability to keep meticulous and consistent documentation of processes, architecture, and solutions
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to independently analyze reported issues, document, and recommend solutions
  • Ability to collaboratively work with technical and non-technical staff, as well as upper management
  • Advanced knowledge of IT technology, tools, skills, techniques, and methods, including microservices architecture.
  • Hands-on experience integrating technologies, data sources, and systems, including applications and databases.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with (both defining and building) APIs.
  • Excellent leadership and relationship management skills with the ability to relate to others and provide support and mentoring.
  • Experience in developing budgets related to supporting the technologies in the scope of responsibilities.
  • Experience in being a point of contact or contract manager for partners and support vendors.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and / or French language is considered an asset.
