Reporting to the Program Manager of the Community Supports Program, Newfoundland and Labrador Health
Services (NLHS) Labrador-Grenfell Zone, the primary focus of this position is to provide services within the Adult
Protection Program and support case managers in the other programs under the Community Support Program in
Happy Valley-Goose Bay, surrounding areas plus North Coast Communities.
Qualifications:
? Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Social Work degree and must provide proof of registration with the
Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers;
? Knowledge of professional social work practices;
? Knowledge of Adult Protection Services and Community Support Programs;
? Possess exceptional interview and investigative skills;
? Possesses effective community development and case management techniques;
? Has an ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse and challenging environment;
? Has a commitment to the delivery of quality services to clients;
? Candidates should possess effective management, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills and be
committed to the delivery of quality service to clients;
? Candidates should hold a valid driver?s license;
? Use of a private vehicle is required;
? The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
Duties (includes but not limited to):
? Completes Adult Protection work including APA evaluations, investigations, coordinating Interdisciplinary
Capacity Assessments and completing social work capacity assessments;
? Prepares court documents and participates in court processes for APA work;
? Provides quality service for clients requiring Community Support Programs and/or other support services;
? Completes assessments;
? Provides counseling;
? Advocates for client services;
? Coordinates service provision;
? Assists in community capacity building;
? Managing caseloads;
? Preparing and analyzing reports;
? Travel in the zone will be required;
? Other related duties
