Job Summary
As a part of a multidisciplinary addictions care team, the NP is an advanced practice role providing professional, analytical and an autonomous comprehensive range of health services to RAAC (formerly ODT Hub) clients and patients. The primary role involves assessing, diagnosing and treating substance use disorders, including, but not limited to treatment for: opioid use disorders (Opioid Agonist Treatment), alcohol use disorders, and outpatient withdrawal management in a community setting (Home Withdrawal Management). The role also includes occasionally supporting inpatient withdrawal management at the Recovery Centre, when required. As a part of this role, The NP role also includes conducting health assessments, diagnosing conditions, referring to appropriate providers for follow-up. This work is performed through a client-centered approach and is provided from a Harm Reduction and Trauma Informed lens.

Constantly moves, lifts, or operates equipment/machinery up to 10 lbs. and regularly is required to lift/move equipment, books, supplies, and sometimes children up to 25 lbs. (may need to be deleted or added depending on the position). Occasionally, may have to reposition a patient over 50 lbs.
Physical effort also includes regular sitting to conduct patient histories, performing work on the computer and when assessing patients, regularly stands or walks.
When performing procedures, regularly uses fine finger/precision work and hand tools (i.e. medical instruments, computer mouse, stethoscope, dopplers, etc.) requiring accurate control and steadiness.
Visual concentration is required when performing physical assessment and procedures, completing charts/reports, observing patients, reading equipment/monitors, and completing work-related correspondence on the computer.
Job Qualifications
Completion of an approved/recognized Nurse Practitioner program is required.
A minimum of five years' experience within the last seven working in mental health and/or addictions is required.
Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of NL and Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Nurse Practitioner, Adult/All Ages with the CRNNL.
Authorized to prescribe OAT (Suboxone and Methadone) by the CRNNL or-willingness to complete within a 6-month timeframe from hiring date.
Current BCLS Certification is required

Previous Work in Harm Reduction and work with vulnerable populations is considered an asset
