Manager, Investment and Commercial Planning

Summary of job function:
Provides technical direction, management and oversight for the work of the investment and commercial planning function of Hydro.
The Manager, Investment and Commercial Planning, reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning, is responsible for managing the economic analysis, investment evaluation of new opportunities as well as supporting the commercial finance team's modelling requirements. The Manager, Investment and Commercial Planning liaises with various stakeholders and external advisors for the overall service delivery, leadership and direction of assignments related to the following key activities:
- Provide direction and oversee Hydro's service delivery of overall corporate assumptions on a monthly basis;
- Oversee and provide direction on the economic analyses for new major projects and investments being considered by all of Hydro's business units in accordance with the investment evaluation methodology;
- Oversee and provide direction over the evaluation of Hydro's capital investments from a feasibility and cost benefit perspective;
- Coordination and preparation of economic impact analysis required for the evaluation of new investments and projects, including GDP, employment, equalization, taxation, and other relevant impacts;
- Other duties as required.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience with financial modelling and development as well as, investment evaluation;
- Strong supervisory skills;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Strong analytical, strategic and problem-solving abilities.
What You'll Need:
Candidates should hold an MBA, professional accounting designation, or other relevant degree in business or economics. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The incumbent must possess acute analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as above-average ability to design and model complex mathematical representations of real-world economic situations.
