PROMISE PARTNERSHIP
The Promise Partnership is a long-standing community engagement initiative based at UNB Saint John, committed to advancing educational equity across New Brunswick. Our approach isn't about helping youth beat the odds-it's about changing the odds entirely. Through hands-on mentoring and tutoring, the program connects post-secondary students with children and youth aged 6-18 in schools, community centres, and other learning spaces. Together, they work toward goals in literacy, numeracy, and digital competency.

WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time | Term ending March 31, 2026 | Moncton (based from Saint John Campus) | Hybrid

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:00 am - 4:00 pm | 36.25 hours per week (Summer Hours)

Additional Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to travel to work sites and transport necessary materials as required.

Salary Range: $54,767 - $74,642 per annum (pro-rated for the length of the term)

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Program Manager (Moncton), the Middle School Coordinator (Moncton) supports expansion in the Moncton and surrounding areas. This position focuses on piloting an after-school program for students in grades 6-8-many of whom come from low-income households or are newcomers to Canada.

  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the middle school homework club and after-school mentoring programs, including culinary snacks, digital literacy, and potential curriculum-based initiatives. This includes the preparation or procuring of materials, organization and related tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Promise Partnership/Discovery team, addressing logistical tasks, budgeting, material transportation, food arrangements, and billing.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the New Brunswick Middle School Curriculum, particularly the Technology Curriculum, to assist mentors and tutors in supporting youth, and in supporting the Discovery Program to offer enrichment opportunities for middle school youth.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, training, and supervising post-secondary student coordinators and over 100 Promise Partnership tutors and mentors along with Promise Partnership staff.
  • Assist in interviewing, training and supervising post-secondary Instructors for the Discovery Program.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with Promise Partnership Staff in Moncton and UNB Saint John.
  • Build strong relationships with community schools, teachers, and internal and external partners.
  • Contribute to the design of new program offerings in collaboration with program staff, local schools, and community partners.
  • Provide support for program evaluation alongside the Education Coordinator, Moncton, the Moncton Program Manager and the Managing Director.
  • Other duties as assigned that will enhance the delivery of the program.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • College diploma in a relevant field.
  • 5 years of experience coordinating youth and community outreach programs, with a strong track record of engagement with students in grades 6 to 8.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
