Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide Clinical Social Work Services in Operations. The Social Worker must be skilled in psychosocial assessment, counselling with individuals and families, crisis intervention and discharge planning. The Social Worker will also be expected to provide field instruction for Social Work students.
This position reports to the Manager of Operations and maintains accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Social Work for integrity and professional practice issues.

Regularly sits to consult with clients, conduct therapeutic sessions, and to work on the computer.

Regularly uses fine finger/precision work on a computer.
Job Qualifications
Graduation with an accredited Bachelor of Social Work Degree is required.
Current and continuing registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW) is required.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, including but not limited to, Mental Health Care and Treatment Act, Adult Protection Act, Advanced Health Care Directives Act, Medical Assistance in Dying, and the Children, Youth and Families Act.
Knowledge of community resources, systems and programs.
Demonstrated ability to direct, supervise and mentor students.
Demonstrated clinical skills in assessment and interventions with individuals, families and groups.
Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills.
Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to deliver/facilitate effective presentations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional environment, and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Demonstrated ability to work independently
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
