Reporting to the Manager of Public Health, the primary purpose of this position is to provide
administrative support for the staff of the public health, primary care, and ambulatory care/home care
program areas.

Qualifications:
? Graduation from high school supplemented by the successful completion of a two-year
Secretarial Science or Office Administration diploma;
? Completion of an approved medical terminology course or willingness to complete within
timeframe designated by the employer;
? Demonstrated experience and ability in word processing and other Microsoft software
(including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Email);
? Experience working with people in a healthcare setting considered an asset;
? Ability to work independently;
? The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties (Include but not limited to):
? Answers the telephone, files, prepares/sends/receives mail, photocopies, and
sends/receives faxes;
? Monitors email and keeps up to date with public health, primary care, and ambulatory/home
care clerical work flow;
? Manages the schedules of health care professionals working in public health, primary care,
and ambulatory/home care (including receiving referrals and booking/scheduling
appointments by corresponding with clients);
? Utilizes the electronic medical record, Meditech, CRMS, and any other applicable software
to assist in client documentation;
? Greets clients and manages the waiting area;
? Obtains/orders supplies through Materials Management;
? Other related duties as required;
? Travel may be required;
? May be required to work alone
