Manager, Corporate Performance and Planning
The Manager, Corporate Performance and Planning oversees the development of WorkplaceNL's strategic plans, performance measures and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the delivery of sound outcomes for clients across all lines of business.
Role Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively across the organization in developing multi-year strategic plans and performance reports to deliver on WorkplaceNL's mandate, while ensuring compliance with the Transparency and Accountability Act.
- Leads a multi-disciplinary team in designing initiatives to foster sound organizational performance, including key performance indicators, service standards and program accountability frameworks.
- Keeps abreast of industry-leading practices on matters related to workers' compensation and advises management on complex issues affecting its mandate.
- Oversees the delivery of WorkplaceNL's Research Initiatives Program that funds occupational health and safety research.
- Manages the design and delivery of initiatives to meet organizational research and evaluation needs, including quantitative and qualitative research projects and periodic program evaluations.
- Provides guidance to ensure the development and implementation of effective corporate policies, procedures and programs.
- Leads communities of practice that foster a culture of evidence-based decision making and continuous improvement.
- Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensures the progressive development of employees and teams through strong leadership.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- A university degree in a social science, health care, business, public administration, commerce, or a similar discipline, preferably at the master's level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of experience with strategic planning and project management.
- Strong leadership skills and experience supervising multi-disciplinary teams and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to think strategically, analytically and use good judgement in identifying solutions across a broad range of complex topics.
- Experience applying a range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and implementing quantifiable performance measures.
- Skilled problem solver with effective communication, organizational and planning skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the workers' compensation system, Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Act, 2022, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Transparency and Accountability Act, and other relevant provincial legislation.
