Eating Disorders Nova Scotia is a rapidly growing, community-based organization. We believe that no-one should have to face an eating disorder alone. Each year, we support over a thousand people along their recovery journey. Our supports include peer support groups and individual support, workshops, professionally led groups, support for families, education, resource navigation, and advocacy.
This fall we will be opening our first ever dedicated space on Agricola Street and will be offering in person programming.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The Operations Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations and impact of our organization
This is a full-time position, working out of our space in the North End of Halifax.
Key Responsibilities
Our processes
- Collaborate with team members to develop, implement, assess and improve streamlined procedures and operational workflows.
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the planning, execution, and evaluation of programs and projects.
- Track project timelines and milestones to ensure timely completion.
- Assist with planning and coordinating events and meetings.
Our technology and tools
- Serve as the office's primary focal point for IT infrastructure, hardware, and software matters.
- Maintain our customer relations database (Keela).
- Manage and maintain digital files and platforms (Monday, QuestionPro, Slack, MS365, etc.)
Our building
- Manage our building, coordinate maintenance, repairs and improvements as needed.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of supplies and equipment.
- Work with vendors and contractors to procure necessary materials and services.
Our finances
- Monitor budgets, including A/P and A/R.
- Provide support to Finance.
- Process donations, including bank deposits.
- Ensure legal, financial, and privacy compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in operations coordination or a similar role.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in project management tools (we use Monday) and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Are a confident self-starter, organized and self-motivated with good attention to detail; are able to break apart complex tasks into their distinct pieces.
- Love organizing and think systematically; derive satisfaction from being able to make things simpler and more efficient.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing demands and priorities; like to work on a wide variety of tasks and projects.
- Are an effective listener and can translate problems into solutions; inquire when unclear and ask questions for clarity and understanding.
- Know how to effectively communicate about your workload and priorities in order to get the support you need to accomplish your tasks.
- Have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, preferably in the non-profit sector.
