Responsabilités

What you will be doing…

Reporting to the Regional Principal (Northern Region) with functional accountability to the Director of Facilities and Engineering, you will:

  • Be accountable for efficiently maintaining the buildings and grounds of the Campus to a standard of health, safety, cleanliness, appearance, physical security and energy efficiency generally associated with a public post-secondary educational institution offering a full schedule of daytime programs and evening courses, with an emphasis on sustainability and valuing our customers and their needs.
  • Provide cost-effective and timely facility management and maintenance services that promote our commitment to the care and preservation of the Campus facilities, a safe working environment, and effective risk management to create and maintain a welcoming environment reflecting standards of excellence in support of NSCC programs.
  • Your responsibility will be for the Northern Region including Truro Campus, Springhill Campus and the Amherst site. The predominant work location will be at the Truro Campus.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary degree/diploma in Facilities Management or Building Sciences such as:
    • Architectural or Engineering
    • Building Services Technician/BMA Accreditation
    • Certified Engineering Technologist.
    • 3rdClass Power Engineer
    • Journeyperson Certification Plumbing, Heating, Electrical or Building Related Trade.
    • Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA} /Building Environment Systems (BES) International Facility Management Association (IFMA}
  • A certificate in Project Management would be considered an asset.
  • 7-10 years of recent occupational experience in a facilities management role, including construction and maintenance services, building operations and facility administration which includes 5 years' experience supervising, managing and leading a team.
  • Related occupational experience overseeing building/facility operation and/or management experience would be considered an asset.
  • A management credential, certificate in Project Management and Construction Safety Supervisor certification or equivalent would be considered assets.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-maill, Megamation, as well as knowledge of building control and CCTV software would be considered an asset.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology, and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience.
