A TYPICAL WEEK:

Working as part of a dedicated team, the Deposit Services Officer is responsible for providing high quality customer service and administrative services to existing and potential investment clients, credit unions and brokers. They contribute to the growth of LSM by promoting and cross selling clients on the benefits of utilizing other LSM products and/or credit union products and services.

Responsabilités
  • Holds discussions with existing and potential clients, credit unions, and brokers to determine investment needs.
  • Sells registered and nonregistered investment. Analyzes client's investment portfolio to provide sound financial advice regarding their investments with consideration for tax implications.
  • Prepares and/or reviews paperwork for new purchases and renewals, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Monitors and actions items on daily reports from Concentra for the nominee channel and accepts incoming wire transfers, prepares outgoing wire transfer ,actions and resolves incoming requests
  • Monitors and contacts account holders on the RRSP age 71 listing. Ensures all documentation complies with regulatory requirements.
  • Assists credit unions, brokers and clients with interpreting and completing the required documentation for special federal and provincial pension withdrawals.
  • Analyzes information received on deceased account holders with registered plans and non-registered plans and determines documentation required to process the account. .
  • Creates and maintains banking platform queries, and other source reports, modify existing reporting solutions to enhance efficiency and provide new insights for internal stakeholders, credit unions and brokers.
  • Prepares, posts and balances various deposit transactions and daily receivables for deposit.
  • Reviews the investment maintenance/error reports for errors, investigates errors, identifies a resolution and initiates corrective action.
  • Provides administrative support including preparing correspondence and reports; maintenance of electronic filing system; answering phones; photocopying; faxing and other general office administration.
  • Develops and maintains the procedures for the incumbent's position. Participates in cross-training on a regular basis on other retail deposit administrative functions and provides back-up to these functions as required.
  • Completes other duties and projects assigned.
Qualifications

As the ideal candidate you will have will have successfully completed a 1-2 year post- secondary business program plus have 1-3 years relevant experience in a financial institution; or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LOCATION:

This position will be based in our Halifax, NS office, and provides services throughout Atlantic Canada, therefore offers the ability to work remotely as required.

TRAVEL, EVENING AND WEEKEND WORK:

This position requires occasional overtime.
