Contributes to the overall success of the Small Business department in Canada by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The Manager, Portfolio Analytics is responsible for delivering analytics via Power BI and Microsoft Power Platforms (PowerApps, Power Automate etc.) that enables multiple stakeholders in the Small Business team to monitor & manage the health of the portfolio, business activities and results efficiently and effectively based on timely and value-added reporting of business performance. The incumbent will leverage his/her subject matter expertise on data, data visualization, application design, reporting and analytical tools to provide timely and accurate reporting by collaborating and providing solutions to multiple business partners.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Working closely with internal data and technology teams to build, improve, and automate advanced BI solution using Power BI, enabling real time dashboards for executives, senior managements, field representatives within Small Business with enriched data and insights.
  • Design, develop, and deliver best-in-class analytics solutions for both customer and management level reporting and dashboards across all Small Business lines
  • Identify data discrepancy, issues and work closely with technology partners to find solutions. Apply automation for data transferring and data mining tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with data infrastructure and IT teams to manage development of analytical infrastructure comprising of databases, data infrastructure and analytical tools to provide sound infrastructure for reporting, portfolio management, analytics, segmentation and statistical modeling.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Work closely with other business lines including small business for ad-hoc analytics requests on customers, products, assets, revenue & profitability. Leverage business results data to identify referral and other revenue opportunities through business life cycle.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Engage in high impact technology projects to provide subject matter expertise with respect to data architecture, systems integration and application design. Ensure integration of new advanced analytical tools into the analytical infrastructure.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics or Statistics
  • MBA (Finance or Marketing) or MMA - preferred
  • Strong working experience in PowerBI and MS power platforms (Power Automate , PowerApps etc.)
  • 3+ years experience in Analytics or MIS/Reporting
  • 3+ years experience in programming, application development and/or data warehousing
  • Detailed experience in R or Python, SQL, SAS
  • Strong communication skills essential with clients, vendors and management
  • Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical, presentation, project management, people management and relationship building skills
