Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and organized Student Coordinator of Recreation & Leisure Education to join our team for the summer. This role focuses on supporting the development and delivery of educational and recreational programs for seniors and residents in long-term care.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement educational programs and activities that enrich the lives of residents.
· Collaborate with recreation and healthcare staff to align programs with residents' needs and interests.
· Facilitate group activities, workshops, and one-on-one engagement to promote learning and social connection.
· Assist with planning community events and collaborative initiatives with local organizations.
· Monitor program participation, gather feedback, and suggest improvements.
· Ensure activities are inclusive, accessible, and meet the diverse needs of residents.
· Maintain accurate records of attendance, resident engagement, and program outcomes.
Qualifications:
· Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Health, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
· Experience in program development or recreation planning is considered an asset.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
· Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors.
· Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
